So far, we have held four Conferences. The first one (“Myth and Subversion in the Contemporary Novel”, UCM, 2011) showed how myths marked the degeneration of the classical epistemology. The second one (“Myth and Interdisciplinarity”, UCM, 2012) demonstrated that myths fit perfectly into an interdisciplinary world. The third one (“Myths in Crisis, the Crisis of Myth”, UCM, 2014) proved that the new conditions may lead to distortion, subversion or elimination of myths. In the fourth one (“Myth and Emotions”, UCM, 2016) we shifted the focus to the ways in which myths affect us as receptors.
For this fifth Conference we will return to the study of the transformations of myth in our time and discern how the digital revolution ―particularly in film, television series and video games― affect the mythical accounts.
To strengthen the internationality of the Conference, there will be presentations in Spanish, English, German, French, Italian, and Portuguese.
